One vision, across two hemispheres

Leonardslee is one chapter of a larger story a family of estates linked by the same family, the same winemaker, and a shared standard of excellence.

"The Antarctic Benguela Current creates a unique terroir wines of exceptional elegance and freshness."

Benguela Cove Lagoon Wine Estate

Where the family's wine story began. Standing at Walker Bay for the first time in 2013 vineyards running down to a lagoon, the Antarctic Benguela Current shaping the climate, and wild horses along the shore Penny knew immediately what it could become.

Today it is one of the world's most awarded cool-climate estates, a 200-hectare complex of vineyards, restaurants, villas, a sculpture park and a residential estate set within a protected nature reserve. In 2023 it was named among the world's Top 100 Vineyards. Its wines are poured side by side with Leonardslee's English sparkling, under one vision, by the same winemaker.

Mannings Heath Golf Club & Leonardslee Wine Estate.

Acquired in 2016, Mannings Heath became the UK's first golf and wine estate and the birthplace of the Leonardslee vineyards. It was on part of the Kingfisher course that the very first vines were planted in 2017, before further sites were identified at Leonardslee itself.

Just three miles from Leonardslee Lakes & Gardens, the estate is home to the 18-hole championship Waterfall course and the scenic 9-hole Kingfisher course, alongside the Vineyard Hotel and Vineyard Kitchen meticulously maintained, with classic English charm and superb wines.
