This winter, Leonardslee Lights returns with a dazzling new route and an expanded cast of light, sound and spectacle. Wander through woodland scenes bathed in illumination, music and mystery, where the natural landscape becomes a stage for an unforgettable evening of performance.

Each installation is a carefully crafted moment, inspired by the beauty of Leonardslee Lakes & Gardens and brought to life with theatrical imagination the most affordable and sustainable way to enjoy Sussex’s most magical light show.

The Village returns as a lively hub at the heart of the experience and for 2026 it is open both before and after your journey through the lights. With an indoor covered bar, firepits for marshmallow roasting, freshly made doughnuts, live performances and seating indoors and out, it is the perfect place to begin the evening or unwind afterwards.

Leonardslee Lights is shaped by an evolving community of artistic collaborators from nationally acclaimed studios to emerging local talent. At the heart of the creative direction are Ithaca Studio, award-winning sound designer Dan Fox, and the spellbinding performers of ThirdSpace, whose talents have helped define the immersive magic of the trail.

Before you arrive

Please allow 15 minutes to park and walk to the main ticket entrance before your pre-booked trail time. Have your tickets ready to scan, on your phone or printed. Please don’t join the entrance queue more than 5 minutes before your slot you’ll only be admitted at your booked time. Last entry onto the trail is 20:30.

The trail takes around 60–90 minutes to complete. The route runs outdoors along made-up grit and hard-standing paths through a mature landscaped valley, with several steeper slopes including an initial descent. Please dress for the weather the trail runs in most conditions.

The trail is outdoors on accessible gravel paths suitable for most all-terrain mobility scooters. One or two sections are steeper, particularly the pathways to and from the valley, and these are not suitable for wheelchairs. For access or mobility concerns, contact the team in advance at info@leonardsleelights.co.uk.

Yes well-behaved dogs on short leads are very welcome at Leonardslee Lights.

Leonardslee Lights is a winter trail and is weatherproof in normal winter conditions if it’s raining, windy, cold or frosty, the event goes ahead as planned. In the rare event of a cancellation for safety, ticket holders are contacted by email as early as possible, usually by noon, with rebooking options.

Tickets are booked in advance online choose your date and entry time and you’ll be emailed an e-ticket to scan on arrival. Leonardslee Lights is a popular family event and is expected to sell out, so booking well ahead is recommended. The site is primarily cashless.
